Good value RCR123A/16340 cells

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:29 - Olight 650mAh protected Li-ion 16340 (RCR123A)

Purchased two in March 2017 with an Olight H1 Nova. Performance has been absolutely fine. They don't seem to support the H1 Nova's highest output unless just off the charger, which was expected.

Good value, good functionality.

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:22 - Xtar VC2 Plus Master USB powered Li-ion/NiMH 2 channel battery charger and powerbank

Purchased in March 2017 with two RCR123A cells and matching torch. Materials and build quality seem very good, and operation is very straightforward, although the 'time remaining to full' display is best treated as a ballpark guide! Has been used on the RCR123A Li-ion cells, a selection of AA NiMH cells, and an 18650 Li-ion cell, and they all charged just fine at 0.5A, albeit not super quick.

Good value CR123As.

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:17 - Olight 1500mAh CR123A Lithium battery two pack

Added to a larger order, so with the postage covered by the main order, these are pretty good value!

Useful USB tool.

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:15 - Xtar VI01 USB current and voltage detector

Does just what it says on the packet. Great to check the current draw of devices on charge, and the associated voltage drop from the charger. Build quality seems good. Have used it to check charging of mobile phones, iPads, power banks, battery charger charging a variety of cells, Olight UL1 USB light head, and more.

Handy and great value.

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:09 - Xtar UL1 180 lumen USB powered LED light

The UL1 is light, compact, efficient, has a good range of output levels, has a good, even beam (cool white), and has a logical interface. Build quality is good. (The build quality of the goose-neck USB 'cable' is pretty good too.) It's so efficient that the current draw is quite low, meaning one of my USB power banks thought there was nothing connected and turned itself off after 5 minutes! Very handy for wherever you might need a light source using just a basic 5V/0.5A USB charger you've probably already got.

It's greasy!

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:03 - XTAR Silicone grease lubricant for torch seals, threads & O rings

Good value, local stock.

Olight H1 Nova - Great quality, great light

Samcphillips - Fri, 14/04/2017 - 17:00 - Olight H1 Nova 500 lumen compact LED headlamp and torch

Purchased the H1 Nova in March 2017. Selected because of (1) the 90-degree head, allowing it to be clipped on clothing, (2) the head-torch function with supplied head strap, (3) the neutral-tint LED, (4) the small size for EDC convenience, (5) the lithium cell for light weight, (6) the good reputation for quality of Olight, (7) the capability to use RCR123A rechargeable cells as well as CR123A primary cells, (8) an interface that suits me (I don't like rotating-head interfaces), (9) the useful range of output levels, and (10) the wide, even flood beam pattern. The torch certainly hasn't disappointed, and the service from liteshop.com.au was very good.

Yellow Beam

jujukdg - Fri, 07/04/2017 - 17:42 - Olight M3XS-UT Javelot Ultra Throw 1km range LED torch

I purchased the M3XS-UT for myself a few months ago and noticed the yellow tint in the beam also. At first I wasn't very impressed with it but after doing some research about it I quickly learned that the yellow beam has a purpose. It's supposed to penetrate fog and rain easier than say a cool white beam. So It may not look pretty but It's practical especially if you're out hunting on a cloudy and misty day.

Perfect EDC Pocket Light

jujukdg - Fri, 07/04/2017 - 16:30 - Olight S1A Baton 1 X AA or 1 X 14500 EDC LED torch

This compact but powerful flashlight ticks all the right boxes for the perfect EDC light.
It's not too big yet not too small, It takes AA's which was a big selling point for me because they are the most common battery type produced and can be found everywhere.

It also takes the more powerful 14500 Li-ion cells which when used packs a real punch putting out 600 lumens.
The beam has a really nice spread and lights up the area in front of you really well with no hotspot, the beam also has a very nice neutral color.
The deep carry pocket clip is also a very nice feature making it disappear in your pocket, It has got good retention so It's not going to fall out of your pocket easily.
The Interface is nice and simple making it easy to use.

Overall I absolutely love this flashlight so It's going to stay in my pocket and go everywhere with me.

Perfect Keyring Torch

mattybm96 - Fri, 07/04/2017 - 00:39 - Olight i3E EOS 90/120 lumen AAA LED keyring torch

Although this torch has cute dimensions its definitely got the brightness to say otherwise! awesome for a set of keys and does the job perfectly for any basic scenario, Definitely worth adding to any future order or just because

Awesome torch, Bright as!

mattybm96 - Fri, 07/04/2017 - 00:36 - JETBeam WL-S4 MT-G2 2600 lumen LED searchlight

Want brightness? this thing delivers and its really good value for money too!
Perfect for intimidation and cutting through a street and fits nicely in the hand also has a reasonable run time making it well worth while, highly recommend this awesome torch and to anyone considering purchasing one you certainly wont regret it!

Fenix PD35 compact 960 lumen XM-L2 LED torch 2014 1

Long Term Review

travisfranklin3030 - Sat, 01/04/2017 - 20:15 - Fenix PD35 compact 960 lumen XM-L2 LED torch 2014

I've owned this torch for almost 3 years. It is my current "go to" torch

I did not buy it from Liteshop.

It's an excellent torch. I personally have not had a problem with the build quality. I have had a Fenix torch (LD22) fail on me. My PD35 has not skipped a beat

Very powerful with respectable runtimes. I find the various different output levels to be good. The lowest setting gets the most use as I use it to move through the house.

The controls are great. Tail switch for on / off and a switch on the side for cycling through the modes.

One gripe is that either the battery self discharges or the torch drains it ever so slightly. I now ensure the battery is changed and charged every month or if I use it for any length of time.

All in all I recommend this torch. Great for around the house. Great for security. The strobe light is very disorientating (for the recipient).

Solid little torch.

troygibson2 - Sat, 25/03/2017 - 17:10 - JETBeam TCE-1 Titanium 600 lumen XP-L LED torch

I bought this as I was attracted to the design and the output for such a small torch. The beam throw is a perfect mix of spot and flood which for me makes it a very useful torch. I've always preferred end cap switches for practicality purposes, therefore the side button is not perfect as you do have to find it, but you get use to it quickly. The construction appears to be very solid and of high quality. It is expensive but if you can afford it it's definitely worth the money.

Klarus XT12GT

wp - Sun, 19/02/2017 - 22:05 - Klarus XT12GT 1600 lumen 603m rechargeable tactical LED torch

I had an oportunity to take my new XT12GT hunting last night. I had a successful shot at 200 meters using Nikon optics at 9 power. The tree line behind the target was 240 meters away. The useful range of this torch for hunting is about 250 meters. Maybe a couple more meters on a dryer night as the air was pretty humid last night. Not bad for the size of this torch and I am happy with the purchase.

Nice and light weight does the job well

wdj_humphrys - Sat, 18/02/2017 - 16:52 - Fenix HL23 150 lumen 1XAA LED headlamp

I really like it, small, light weight simple U/I nice colour and pattern.
I have a Nitecore HC50 which is big, powerful but a touch heavy,
I wanted something a bit smaller and user friendly for the kids and this fits.
Beam distance of 55m is stretching reality a bit, useable for this head torch is really only 15m IMO, its not designed as a thrower but it does what its meant to well.
