    Lumintop FW1A

Posted by Chez on 6th Oct 2025

Received the Lumintop FW1A recently, and after testing this flashlight during my early morning walks, I found this model very comfortable to hold and pocketable.. I removed the pocket Clip and replaced it with a ring spacer so as to preserve the smooth, symmetrical look without having metal protrusions spoiling the feel of the compact designed body. The Lumintop has a good beam profile with large hot spot and a smooth transitional spread. The Electronic button is very responsive and a pleasure to operate. The Neutral White tint is easy on the eyes and it would be good if Lumintop could in the future, release flashlights with more colour tint options between 1800K - 4000K, as Hank at INTL OUTDOORS offers. Lastly, and most importantly, the customer service and communication by the LiteShop is outstanding providing fast and reliable delivery, making for a good buying experience.

    Handy all purpose light

Posted by John on 25th Dec 2020

Like my FW4a, the construction is excellent, the SS clip is sturdy and the switch gives light but positive action so multi-clicking between modes or configuring things like temperature is easy. So far I have found all three Lumintops to be in need of configuring the temperature as they seem to be set about 20C above the actual temperature but it's easy to do. If you don't, the light thinks it's hotter than it actually is and temperature regulation kicks in before it needs to. Speaking of temperature, walking around with the light at the top of the ramp (or 7 if you're in step mode) the light gets quite warm after 10 minutes or so, but not uncomfortably so. I find 6 is good for critter spotting in trees/ground which keeps the light only a little warm and should only be using a bit over an amp or so. Double click to turbo gives a modest increase in brightness as it's already pretty bright to start with even on 6. Beam has very good spill - although not as wide as some, and a broad hotspot that takes up about a third of the horizontal width of the light. Excellent for 100m or so. It's certainly quite a bit more throwy than the FW3/EDC18 but nowhere like a true spot - ie TN42. A good general purpose beam more useful outdoors than the triple emitters. Looks like a good glass lens and well centered led. A well made, very good value for money light with a lot of bang for the buck. Easy to drop into a pocket. I would use the electronic lockout if I had it in a pocket for the day as the switch is quite light and easy to press - which is how I personally like them. And I find the Anduril UI a lot of fun to play with!
